Although I work with chainsaws a lot I also work with children as in with design concepts and finish (painting and sanding etc). The results are often unexpected and even startling ... but always colorful and full of happy surprises.
These bollard totems (2 are removeable to allow vehicle access) were created in 2002 for the Powys Museum in Welshpool, Wales. The concept is that every year a new bunch of local children paint pictures in the carved windows to a theme. All the paintings over the years will be photographed and documented and thus a local visual diary created. It's a terrific community project that will continue to unfold over the generations.
