I carved at the annual July 4th Loggerodeo in Sedro Wooley, Washington State, USA, for 3 years running. This event is renown amongst carvers for it’s big beautiful chunks of western red cedar, and as they have a limit of 12 competitors each year, places are sought after.
It is such a rush creating something so big in just a couple of days.
You just have to lose yourself in the zone and go-for-it and trust in your cuts … that they are always going to be true.
It was at Sedro Wooley in 2005 that I created one of my favorite pieces ever … the 'Big Blue Sheriff Bear' (it is always a western theme there) … Fun Fun Fun !!.
